Overview
This workshop focuses on both the strategy and mechanics of compensation program development and management. Led by experts who have experience developing and managing global nonprofit compensation programs, this interactive workshop will offer opportunities for you to apply your learning, ask questions, and learn from fellow participants.
Learning Objectives
- To understand how an organization’s compensation program supports key talent management objectives, including hiring, retention, and performance management.
- To identify and prioritize the key attributes that can improve the effectiveness of your compensation program and how these contribute to establishing/updating your organization’s compensation philosophy
- To examine the drivers for pay differentiation, including tax, cost of housing, cost of labor, and cost of living and how to use this information to improve your organization’s approach to compensation
- To assess your organization’s current levels of compensation to identify areas of weakness, such as internal equity and pay disparity issues
- To identify various types of salary structures –how they are created and used – and how alternative pay practices, such as variable pay, can complement your salary structure.
- To link your compensation structure to salary administration procedures, including annual increases, hiring guidelines, promotions and sign-on bonuses
- To understand the basics of communicating compensation to staff, including coaching your management to have effective conversations about pay
